Matisse created his vibrant cut-outs when he was too ill to paint any more, they are deceptively simple but surprisingly sophisticated.

In this class you will see examples of his cut-outs and we will be following his lead as inspiration throughout the course. There will be a theme to help get us going then having carefully selected your colour palette you will paint some paper in the selected colours, you will be able to use some coloured paper provided as well. Then you will draw on the shapes of for instance leaves, branches etc and cut them out and then they will be placed on the background paper and stuck down.

This class is mixed ability and everyone is welcome.
